I initially worked as a strength trainer helping novice athletes condition for exercise and athletic competition. There, I witnessed the side effects associated with sports, repetitive movements, and transitioning from sedentary lifestyles. Somawürks is the result. Today, I contine to study under some of the most influential leaders in neuromuscular and rehabilitative techniques, including Paul St. John (NMT), James Waslaski (NMT, Sports Rehabilitation), Aaron Mattes (Active Isolated Stretching®), Eric Dalton (Advanced Myoskeletal Techniques®), and Rose Griscom (Institute of Thai Massage). |
I am a longstanding member of the American Massage Therapy Association, the Florida State Massage Therapy Association, and the National Alliance of Fitness Professionals. I have educated some of Jacksonville's most respected acupuncture physicians, athletic trainers, physical therapists, orthopedic surgeons, and osteopathic doctors; lectured before many groups and organizations interested in noninvasive, pharmaceutical free health and wellness approaches; and acted as a massage instructor for St. Vincent's Hospital Wellness Program. Look for articles and publications in the Florida Times Union, Folio Weekly and The Daily Record about Somawürks, as well as features on WJCT's "Picture This" and WTLV's "Alternative Health" news segments. |
